Our store is hosted on Wix. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and Services to you.
1. Description Policy
You may notice that some of our scarves are described as “one of a kind.” This means the yarn used to create them was sourced from second-hand deadstock and cannot be repurchased. Once the yarn has been knitted into a scarf, it’s gone, therefore making each piece truly unique and bespoke.
Their handmade nature is what gives them character and individuality. As with all handcrafted items, there may be slight variations in size, but these will differ by no more than a couple of centimetres from the measurements stated in the product description. When calculated, the scarf size is rounded down, not averaged out therefore the scarf you receive will be of the description or slightly larger than the description.
2. Quality Clause
Currently most of our products are made with natural materials (e.g. wool, cotton). Natural fibres are chosen for their lasting quality, ease of repair and biodegradability. Our wool scarves are created with UK sourced, British Wool which has minimal bobbling and only gets softer with every wash. Our cotton scarves are also made with UK sourced yarn. We occasionally work with synthetic fibres, only if they are purchased second-hand or upcycled.
All our products are handmade on a manual knitting machine, resulting in some slight visual discrepancies. Larger mistakes are noted and fixed during the production process to minimise waste. These products are not in any way faulty however we hold ourselves to the highest standard so they are not sold through this website, only in person at markets at a discount price. Similarly, our jacquards can have small visual discrepancies such as a single stitch in the opposite colour. We do not consider these to be mistakes and think they add to the handmade charm as they do not affect quality and can only spotted with a keen eye.
Our lace products can be delicate. Handle with care and please ensure to avoid wearing them near sharp objects or materials that may cause snagging. If your scarf develops a pull, snag, or an out-of-place thread, please do not cut it. Instead, gently stretch the fabric horizontally (across the width) of the scarf to help ease the thread back into place.
3. Sustainability
We aim to only use the materials that are required for each update, therefore minimising the amount of waste created. Our intimate workshop atmosphere and small-scale production allow us to work resourcefully, keeping waste to a minimum and our process eco-conscious. Much of our larger equipment has been sourced second-hand, extending its life and reducing our environmental footprint. We work primarily with natural materials, chosen for their lasting quality, ease of repair, and biodegradability. We occasionally work with synthetic fibres, only if they are purchased second-hand or upcycled. Also, we ship our products in UK manufactured, compostable mailers, encouraging our customers to also be sustainable.
